This morning I realised it’s definitely the start of our winter weather. I opened our blinds to find frost, everywhere.
By lunch time it was still there, so I went out to take some pics.
I *almost* slipped on my deck. Almost. Luckily I righted myself just before I faceplanted into the fence. *cough*
Today Max and I went for a walk after we’d dropped off Zack to nursery. Hey it was fffreezing but we’ve been stuck in with icky rain for the past couple of weeks – I’m NOT giving up sunshine for nothing!
So we were out for about an hour. All wrapped up. Went down to the park to play on the swings he loves the swings), and there was a family there.
A woman who homeschools.
We struck up a conversation while I was pushing Max and she went over to push her daughter.
It was a lovely conversation.
Until right at the end, before we were heading off. When they gave me a pamphlet about sinning.
I mean really. If I want to find God? I’ll do it on my own terms.
It just made me wonder if really she was only talking to me to spread the word.
I know that’s not likely to be the case, but I can’t help but wonder…
Why do some people insist on thrusting their religion onto everyone they meet? Why can’t they just enjoy the conversation and the diversity of the world we live in without trying to convert us all?
I’m happy as I am. I’m not religious, although I do think that there are some things out there that we can’t explain. I just don’t want to pidgeonhole myself into a religion when I’m not really that bothered either way.
On the other hand, I would never try to persuade someone who was religious to not be.
It’s our choice to make, and if there is a God, I’m pretty sure that’s how he’d want it. For us to make our own paths and our own choices.
Yes, it was a cold day today… so cold I even started talking about religion. Damn.

Yep very very very cold! I tried to wear my converse out today, was fine earlier on just down town but later my feet were FREEZING!
and its really slippy in some parts of the city! Can’t wait for the snow though
Yeh people do that at work, you scan their shopping though and they give you a leaflet afterwords, straight in the bin thanks! If I wanted information about God or your religion I would ask or go to your Church.

I hope we get plenty of snow this year – much more fun than the usual rain/slush we usually get. Mind you, I remember being really jealous of my parents last year when they told me about all the snow here, so I might be in luck?!
How very odd! Unless it was a sinning instruction manual in which case scan it please lol.
No wonder homeschoolers struggle with “bad press”.

Ahh I’m on the other side – Crieff.
A comedian that hubby and I watched once put it something like this. “When people at the airport hand me pamphlets, it’s like they’re saying, ‘Here, you throw this away’.”
Some people just can’t help it. They are so happy and excited about Jesus, that they feel like the only way they can share their happiness is by spreading their faith. Others feel like it’s their responsibility to help “save” everyone they can. And some religions practically require proselytizing if you want to share their faith, because they feel so strongly about said responsibility.
That doesn’t make it any less awkward for the one on the receiving end though, especially if religion didn’t even enter into your conversation.
I tell you what though, it’s fun to catch people out when they try to share their religion. I was walking into work with someone one day, and they asked me something about church and tried to hand me some sort of literature. The funny part is I was doing a bible study at church at the time, and had brought my book of reading material with me to go over while I was on break. So he goes to give me this thing, and I held up my book and I was like, “Thanks, I’ve got some already”.

Not all homeschoolers are like that! Just so’s you know. My brothers and I were homeschooled, husband and his brothers were homeschooled … There are better ways to share your beliefs than handing out a pamphlet. And send some of your weather my way-it’s 75 degrees over here. Way to hot

Oh I know not all homeschoolers are like that! It’s a little less heard of over here in the UK, although starting to become more popular these days I believe. I know I just wouldn’t have the patience or organization to do it for my two! lol
I reckon we should find a way to share temps so we’ve all got a happy medium imo! hehe
So, it’s almost like hell froze over?
