I forgot what it feels like…

To not have a child permanently around me while I’m out and about.

Today, Max went to creche for the first time. It’s a group run to help out parents who can’t afford childcare and such. They run a free creche for 2 hours every tuesday afternoon. Today I got to leave him there to play with the staff and lots of fun toys to play with while I had some time to myself.
It’s been about 2 months since I didn’t have a buggy to push when I was walking around. The first time in my new town.
Ohhhh it was BLISS!
I went home for the first hour and just chilled out chatting to a friend on MSN, and then decided to go to one of the local coffee shops for a hot chocolate with my Moleskine in my bag.
The hot chocolate was divine, with marshmallows and chocolate sprinkles over the top of it, and my Moleskine stayed in my bag as I chatted to the owner till it was time to leave to pick up Max from creche and then Zack from nursery.
I am going to get used to this I think!
Next week we can’t go as Max has his first speech therapy session, but I certainly don’t mind missing a bit of time out to help him learn to talk. Oh how I would love for him to be calling me Mummy by Christmas. Maybe Santa will help me out with that wish…
So yes, I had a great afternoon today. When we got back from nursery Max dozed in his buggy and Zack n I made some chocolate-covered marshmallows with smarties on top. They were delicious, but gone too quickly for me to take any photos, lol!
