Halloween is upon us!

by Marylin on October 22, 2009

Well… almost.

Zack has a Halloween party to go to next friday. That’s 7 days away. I’m not sure if I still have his skeleton outfit from last year. If I do still have it then I know where it is, so I’ll look it out tomorrow.

If I don’t have it, then I’m screwed. I’m not exactly the making-things type of person, and there aren’t really any ‘costume’ shops in this cute lil old town. Maybe I could dress him as a school boy? No… that would be stupid. And cruel. Also very lazy…

I am really at a loss here. What can I do for Zack? Any tips? HALP!

I have been pondering getting a couple of pumpkins to carve with Zack, it could be fun… and messy… and dangerous. He’s love it.

Then again, I think he won’t *really* miss it, so maybe better to leave it till next year when he’s that lil bit older and Max could help us too?

I actually bought a box of candy for any trick-or-treaters who may come by next saturday. I hope there are some good ones, and that they have a good evening for it. I’m not going to take Zack out yet as he’s a lil young. Maybe in a couple of years. When they’re older. And I’m a little more settled here. Maybe.

So… I guess I should go see if I can find that skellie costume somewhere.

What are you doing for Halloween with your littlies?

We dont’ really do Halloween in this country… it is becoming fashion though to dress up… but thankfully we don’t live in an area that does anything so… nothing!
Hope you find the hidden costume!

I haven’t found it yet, but there are only a couple of places left for it to be now at least! :)

Oooh sounds fun! Unfortunately the nearest tesco is in Perth, and I’m not likely to get there in the next week >_<

Hope you find the costume.
I absolutely love Halloween.
My business partner and I always buy at least 50-60 pounds of candy to give out at the store.
I guess that would be 25kg to you or is it 4 stone?
Well let’s just say alot and leave it at that.
We’re expecting over 100 plus kiddie sto drop by during the evening.
Take care. Be well. Hugs to you and the wee ones.

Wow, that is a *lot* of candy! I just have one wee bucket. I hope it’s enough!
I’ve also been invited to a halloween party on the saturday evening… not a clue what on earth I’d dress up as tbh, but not everyone will, right?

we don’t do Halloween in Australia but I am having two parties on that day. And the older kids are dressing up.

You could send him as a wiggle. Black pants and a coloured skivvie?

Good luck with your parties! I should get you over here to organise us!

Sorry but I don’t like halloween and I really hate trick or treating! Miserable aren’t I?! I turn the doorbell off and prepare to clean the windows in the morning.

I’m not *that* bothered about it either, but I know Zack likes it, so I go along ;)

Oh gee, there’s always a scarecrow. Put him in a pair of coverall’s and stuff raffia into his cuffs and pants legs and cut it off kind of scraggly. Then tie a cord around his wrists and ankles tight enough to hold it in place. Have patches sewed to his clothes and draw a red triangle over his nose with… lipstick? and stitch marks with an eyebrow pencil to “sew it on”. Put any kind of hat on his head with raffia sticking out from under it as well. If you can find a fake bird, especially a black bird or one you could paint black, rig it up to sit on his shoulder or hat.
Have fun!
