Hai, I’m TRYIN to sleep!!

by Marylin on August 8, 2008

Click me for more Haiku's.

Lying in the dark.
I’m trying to catch some sleep.
It should be easy…

…but for whatever
reason, it’s not. During the
day I can sleep well -

why not at night time
when it’s actually meant to
come more easily?

Whatever, I’ll get
over it – insomnia
won’t beat me this time!

Hope you get some good shut-eye tonight.

I have no excuse for being up late but wanting to get my post done before it’s all busy in the morning.

Good night!

Finally managed to get some shuteye last night thanks. :)

It’s partly my own fault for wanting to have time to myself in the evenings when really I should just go to bed! *sigh*

I use an electronic sudoku game to help me fall asleep at night……….hope you can catch up on your zzz’s over the weekend!

I do sudoku puzzles in bed too. :) Although I do then tend to be half dreaming about them when I finally get to sleep! ;)

Insomnia is tough. I used to have it chronically but it’s decreased over the past 6 years or so. I try to stop drinking caffeine after noon and also to have some “laying in bed time” before I’m actually ready for sleeping so that my body can relax a bit.

I’ve never had it too bad, I think it’s cause there’s so much going around my head at the moment so I find it hard to switch off!

That’s the worst, when you want to sleep but you can’t. Sorry you have to deal with this.

I’m lucky at the moment that J’s at home to give me a break when I need it – if it weren’t for that I think I’d have nodded off many times while looking after the boys – eek!

I’ve always been so fortunate on the sleep thing, and my heart goes out to anyone dealing with that. Hope you find a solution soon.

I HATE insomnia. I actually can’t even try to take a nap during the day, or I’ll never get to sleep at night.

We are happy at our house because our little one (five months!) sleeps through the night now. It’s heaven!

Marylin Reply:

See I think that’s where I’m going wrong – I’m so wiped out by morning with the little one still being up in the night, I go for a snooze in the afternoon or late morning and then I’m just not tired again til about 3-4am! My own fault I suppose but I just can’t function on so little sleep.

Oh sweetie. Insomnia sucks! I’ve been there, and it can drive you batty. *hugs* and hope you get some rest tonight.

Thanks honey. I managed to get a bit more sleep last night – I was absolutely shattered as Zack decided to wake up at 4am for the day! That’s one way to make me actually sleep I suppose! ;)
