… it’s Friday? Seriously? What happened to Thursday? Apparently I blinked and missed it! OK I’ve officially missed a day or writing, on this blog that is… but I did still actually post on the other side, so *technically* I have yet to miss a day of Blog365.. amiright?
So… another week gone by and I’ve barely noticed til it’s the weekend again! What did we DO?? Well… I did hand in the form for Zack’s nursery place, and got a call this morning to say he can have a morning slot, so I’m away in on Tuesday to fill in paperwork and find out the exact days and hours etc to take him - yay!!
Potty training is still going really well, J even took him out for a walk up to the supermarket and back (about a 35 min walk there, with a toddler) and he was good the whole way there and back, no accidents and promptly used the potty when he got home. However… he refuses point blank to go on a proper toilet - ONLY the potty is suitable apparently, so it could get interesting if he needs to go but won’t sit on the loo when we’re out Mind you, he’s done so well already I’m sure we’ll crack that soon enough!
Max turned over in his bed this evening - I had assumed he was just doing his cranky tired cry, until it got louder instead of quieter… I go in to investigate and the poor wee guy is on his tummy trying to turn back, bless ‘im, no more rest for me till he figures out how to get himself back over!
The cat… OMW the cat! He gets so hyper in the late-evenings it’s hilarious to watch! Although this must be said whenever someone’s entering our house now… beware he likes pouncing on feet!
*yawns*
Time for me to go to bed before midnight. Only just before midnight, but hey, let’s not get fussy now

This is day 9 of potty training and Zack hasn’t had ANY accidents since saturday morning - wheee! No more icky bums to wipe really makes it much nicer to look after him To top it all, yesterday and today his pull-ups were DRY when he got up this morning and the first thing he said was he needed a wee… to say I’m thrilled is an understatement!
Now I just need to persuade him to sit on a toilet so we can go out normally - he won’t pee in his pull-ups which he wears when we’re out, but refuses to sit on the loo… not good! I think that will be stage 2 of the potty training… just need to tell J about that bit!
I’m feeling much better, finally. Still been dizzy on and off today but haven’t felt as bad as I did on sunday night thank god! I had a look at the pics I’d taken to see if I could find some late weekly winners but to be honest I didn’t really take pics of anything other than the cat - oops!
So on to my Big News. J and I have had a chat and we’ve come to the conclusion that I’m going to look for a job. (Ahahahaha I bet you thought with all the broody posts we were gonna try again - not likely!!)
J’s ok when he’s at home, can cope with the kids etc, but he needs a change, and so do I, so I’ve been dusting off my 4-year-old CV and, uh… revamping it… a bit. I have no idea what to do! I’ve always seen me being pretty happy doing some sort of office job, so maybe I’ll be lucky and find something like that, all I know for now is, I need to be earning some money by the end of July, so I have about 6 weeks… I should find something by then, right?
P.S. Rocky is standing on my shoulders as I’m typing this… I’m thinking he’s totally settled here now…

Well, it was my turn to be up early with the boys - I can’t complain, Max seems to be sleeping through now and Zack didn’t wake til 8am. I got both changed and dressed and there began our quest - Day Two of Potty Training the Toddler.
He had an accident almost straight away - he did tell me he needed but just couldn’t hold on in time for me to get him into the bathroom for his potty. No problems, we just cleaned him up and popped on some freshy undies and trousers. He’s been on the potty 6 times today and only one minor accident during that time. He’s even done some poos in there… I was tempted to take a picture for you but I figured there are lotsa people who do that already
We finally got the front garden cut today - a combo of J trying to get our ickle flymo to work, which got us most of the middle done, and our neighbour who had one of those uber strimmers for major gardening, he seemed pretty happy to help us out and did right around the edges for which I’m sooo grateful, we’d never have got it done otherwise!
Zack was outside all afternoon, came in around 4.30pm, had some food, decided to go to his room and was fast asleep on his bed 5 minutes later. Bless him he was totally shattered. I’m gonna regret leaving him there at 6am tomorrow, but there was no point in waking him - he was totally gone!
This evening the cat-lady came and went over all the ‘advice’ for taking care of the cat, inspected the back garden etc. The main thing she kept saying over and over again was “MUST NOT BE LEFT OUTSIDE UNSUPERVISED!”. I nodded and agreed to it but for goodness sake - it’s a cat, they’re MEANT to be allowed outside aren’t they?? It’s what they DO! Just not for the first month or so to make sure he knows where home is…
SO! That means I get to pick up lil Gizmo tomorrow - YAAAAAAAAAY!!!!! /happydance SQUEEEEEEE *jumps around like a happy-mad-woman*! Gotta go pick up a litter tray etc tomorrow morning before I go down to get him. Can you tell I’m excited? CAN YOU?? I’m gonna keep the name Gizmo, my brother had a cat named Gizmo once, so it’ll always remind me of him, since I don’t get to see him much. (The brother, I can’t really remember the cat).
I’m gonna have more camera-fodder! Ahem, I meant… a new wonderful addition to our family, of course!

Signed up for Plurk this
morning, oh what a silly
thing to do - great fun!
I saw that all the cool kids were doing it and thought I’d jump on the bandwagon this morning so I signed up for Plurk. Didn’t *really* think I’d bother that much about it, but 2 hours after I first logged on I was still there, chatting away. How the h3ll am I supposed to make time for ANOTHER (micro-)blogging addiction?!
SO anyhoo, if you haven’t found me yet, or haven’t even given it a try, go on - you just might like it! Oh, and feel free to add me to your list!
We did THE SHOP this afternoon. You know the one… the monthly UBER SHOP OF DOOM that makes you want to never see a grocery store again? Especially when you wait til AFTER the baby has his nap and end up being stuck there during prime-shopping-time, right after the schools are out. GAAAH. I don’t even want to look at the receipt, I have a feeling Zack put some extra things in there… and so it begins *sigh*. At least he didn’t have too much of a meltdown til we were at the checkout. Why is it always at the checkout? Huh?
I PLURKED about that when I got back… it was fun. You should go check it out, and I should get paid for this blurb, seriously!
J made dinner tonight (chicken fajita’s) and Zack actually ASKED to go to bed early cause he was sleepy :O
Max was asleep by 6.30pm, Zack was out by 7pm, and J was glued to his pc for a night of raiding on Warcraft (I know that sounds sucky to some people but I understand live the obsession… what do you think I’ve been doing in the evenings lately?!) - nice evening all in all.
So now it’s time for a (relatively) early night for me - oh, did I mention that MAX SLEPT THROUGH AGAIN last night? No? Well he did - WOOT!! I’m hoping he’ll do it again tonight… time will tell n all that
Yay it’s the weekend!!

The past week I have only just remembered to post with half an hour to go until I would technically ‘miss’ a day. So silly as then I end up rushing what I’m writing and don’t remember everything I’ve wanted to say!
We’ve had a lazy day here. Took Zack out in the garden and he and next door’s lil boy wanted to go out the back to the communal garden that we share with all the other flat in our area. What did I see when we went out there? Two bin bags had been ripped open and their contents (including a bin-ful of Max’s nappies, an old TV that had been bashed and broken into pieces, and various other rubbishy things) were all over the pathway between our bedroom window and what would have been next door’s kitchen.
Come to think of it I should have taken before and after pictures, but I was kind of busy keeping the boys away from it all while deciding how I could go about cleaning it up. I ended up getting on old clothes, finding a pair of gardening gloves and pulling two of the wheelie-bins out the back to put all the rubbish into. Really hope I don’t have to do that again anytime soon, but one of the women who lives up the stairs came down to help me out and swept the paving once I’d finished clearing away the rubbish so even if the two of us can keep at it, hopefully the place will be a bit cleaner and nicer for everyone who lives here.
One of Zack’s new phrases is “Oh FINE then” when I ask him (usually repeatedly) to do something like tidy up his toys, eat his dinner, pretty much anything to be honest. He has gone past the ‘cute’-terrible-two’s and is definitely moving into the obnoxious toddler that I often want to shut in a (padded) cupboard. This is usually when I bring out something that he’s been asking for over and over and OVER again, for him to then say “This is BO-ring…”. I don’t *really* want to ring his neck… honest… it’s just that when he starts shouting mummymummymummymummy repeatedly, in my ear, for no reason other than he wants to annoy me (or so it would seem), well, those of you who have toddlers can imagine I’m sure
Luckily Max has been being pretty totally and utterly cute, including sleeping til past 8am for the past few nights, maybe waking at 4am for half a feed and then back asleep for longer - long may that last!! PLEASE let it last!
I’ve had a couple of perkier days (get yr mind above it those who thought I meant bewbs… if you want them go here!) which has been pretty nice, feeling more relaxed and like myself. I wonder if the fact that I’ve not been doing the night-feeds has anything to do with that?
J seems to be ok, but whenever I try to bring up the “so, what’s happening, how are you feeling about work etc” type conversation it seems to be steered away from that topic, or just stopped short. I know you don’t really want to think about it honey but we do need to sit down and talk about this stuff to come up with a game-plan or something. And by we, I do mean BOTH of us, ok? *huggles*
Oooh and did I tell you about my new phone? My contract was up for renewal and as I’m happy with the service I was happy to just keep going with what I have already. With that they gave me an upgrade completely free, so I now have a Sony Ericsson K850i. Seems pretty good so far and I’m enjoying playing with the camera, I’ll post some videos and pics from it when I manage to get around to figuring out how to get them from the phone to the laptop!
