Ok ok, so I’m a day late, but my blog is officially now one year old - go me! I am totally not usually one to stick at a hobby for so long. The only other thing I’ve stuck at is my other addiction, WoW, so I’m pretty damn pleased with myself for managing to keep going for a whole year.

I was away to do a ‘best posts’ section or something, but it’s a friday night, and all I want to do is collapse on the sofa and veg for the night! Maybe watch some Heroes, and play a bit of Fable 2 on the xbox. Basically anything I can do without having to be sitting upright at my desk. Sitting at the computer isn’t as much of a novelty these days with my job requiring me to do that.

What’s your favourite way to relax?

My dreams filled with pain, loudness and throbbing.

I wake from it, hoping the pain behind my eyes will go….

No such luck - I can feel it right down to the roots of my teeth, into my neck.

My whole body aches. The pain washes over me.

I pry open my eyes, the room is still dark.

Check my clock, 4.38am. No children awake,

J sleeps next to me. Total silence. This would be bliss if I didn’t feel so sore.

I pull myself up slowly. I try to stand up, but lose my balance.

A wave of dizziness overcomes me as I sit back down.

Need to get painkillers. Have to go to work soon.

I steady myself by the window, look outside.

All I can see is darkness. It looks so calm out there.

Trudge to the kitchen, I look through our cupboards for the right medication.

Migraleve, my saviour. Two pink pills to save me from this constant ache.

The water is so cold - icy fresh.

I like it this way.

I drink the whole glass.

Back to bed, I lie down and try to forget.

Try to get back to sleep.

Hope that when I wake for work I will feel normal again.

This too shall pass. This too shall pass.

Just wanted to say sorry in advance if I don’t reply to comments or comment on your blogs in the next few days!

It’s pretty hectic around here at the moment - 9am-6pm shifts mean I leave the house by 7.30am and don’t get back til almost 7pm, so it’s a LONG day! I’m only just managing to keep on top of the whole NaBlo thing, and skiming through my reader while I’m at it.

I will be GLAD when this week is over, that’s for sure!

So, since I’m being boring today and have nothing interesting to say, can you share something fun that you did/heard/saw today? I am missing seeing my boys’ antics as they’re just getting up when I leave and are going to bed by the time I’m home, so cheer me up by telling me your funny stories! :)

[on a good note, the fact that I am, in fact, MISSING seeing my baby boy Max is definitely a step in the right direction with the PND and such - yay!]

Thought I’d give the Ten on Tuesday Meme another go this month - it’s been a while and was always one I liked to take part of!

  1. My kids and hubby.
  2. Reminiscing about my pregnancies and birth (yes, I’m one of those women).
  3. World of Warcraft.
  4. Blogging.
  5. Photography.
  6. My friends… not in a gossiping way though, just general”oh I have a friend who did that” kinda thing.
  7. Moaning about the state of the house/garden/insert thing to moan about here (what? I like complaining - it’s in my blood!)
  8. Science.
  9. Particularly anything to do with anatomy/physiology and neuropharmacology.
  10. What I would do if I won the lottery.

There are a ton of other things of course, but these are the first things that came to mind - I haven’t even got started on my soaps, Lost, and Heroes… speaking of which, I’ve got an episode of that to catch up on.

Toodles! ;)

Thought you might like to hear a run down of my typical day this week. FYI… 9am-6pm shifts are NO FUN!

6.30am - hear Zack pottering around in his room, also need the loo, but if I get up, he’ll follow me and then I’ll never get any more peace!

7am - alarm goes off, not that I’ve slept at all - needed the damn toilet too much! Oh well!

7.15am - have had my shower, Zack is now zooming around the place and I check my emails and reader while nomming on my cereal.

7.45am - dry my hair properly and generally groom myself to a can-be-seen-in-public standard.

8am - Realise I can’t find my work pass and run around the flat like a woman possessed trying to find it. Turns out it was in my bag all along.

8.10am - prize Zack off me so I can get out the door to go for work.

8.15am - standing at the bus stop. I’m early, but the bus drivers around here aren’t the best and can sometimes pass by early so they can get a longer break. (That’s a WHOLE other rant there though!)

8.40am - bus finally arrives, 15 minutes late. Maybe I’ll *just* make it in on time?

8.50am - 5 minutes away from work and there are extra traffic lights up for some work being done on the road. Obviously this is not my morning.

9.02am - come crashing up the stairs to my floor and manage to get in only 2 minutes late.

[Work]

6pm - finish my last call in perfect timing to wrap up at the end of the day - WOOT!

6.05pm - walk out of the building.

6.07pm - at my bus stop about 5 minutes early, same as usual.

6.20pm - still standing at the bus stop.

6.30pm - bus finally gets there, 20 minutes late.

6.50pm - get off the bus at the top of my road. That bus journey was pretty unpleasant as I haven’t eaten since about midday…

6.55pm - stop off at the local chinese take-out to pick up some chicken fried rice to eat when I get in.

7pm - Walk through the front door, Max is already in bed so I’ve not seen him at all today. :( Zack almost ready to go to his bed too.

7.05pm - Give Zack a cuddle and pop him into bed.

7.07pm - Start chowing down my dinner to realise I’m not hugely hungry.

7.25pm - sit down at the mac trying to think of something to write. So tired I can barely look at the screen, but here I am, right? ;)

7.42pm - pondering what to do for the rest of the evening. There is a bar of chocolate in the kitchen with my name on it, and an episode of Heroes to watch online, so I think that’ll be me sorted. :D

7.44pm - hit Publish.
