Thought you might like to hear a run down of my typical day this week. FYI… 9am-6pm shifts are NO FUN!
6.30am - hear Zack pottering around in his room, also need the loo, but if I get up, he’ll follow me and then I’ll never get any more peace!
7am - alarm goes off, not that I’ve slept at all - needed the damn toilet too much! Oh well!
7.15am - have had my shower, Zack is now zooming around the place and I check my emails and reader while nomming on my cereal.
7.45am - dry my hair properly and generally groom myself to a can-be-seen-in-public standard.
8am - Realise I can’t find my work pass and run around the flat like a woman possessed trying to find it. Turns out it was in my bag all along.
8.10am - prize Zack off me so I can get out the door to go for work.
8.15am - standing at the bus stop. I’m early, but the bus drivers around here aren’t the best and can sometimes pass by early so they can get a longer break. (That’s a WHOLE other rant there though!)
8.40am - bus finally arrives, 15 minutes late. Maybe I’ll *just* make it in on time?
8.50am - 5 minutes away from work and there are extra traffic lights up for some work being done on the road. Obviously this is not my morning.
9.02am - come crashing up the stairs to my floor and manage to get in only 2 minutes late.
[Work]
6pm - finish my last call in perfect timing to wrap up at the end of the day - WOOT!
6.05pm - walk out of the building.
6.07pm - at my bus stop about 5 minutes early, same as usual.
6.20pm - still standing at the bus stop.
6.30pm - bus finally gets there, 20 minutes late.
6.50pm - get off the bus at the top of my road. That bus journey was pretty unpleasant as I haven’t eaten since about midday…
6.55pm - stop off at the local chinese take-out to pick up some chicken fried rice to eat when I get in.
7pm - Walk through the front door, Max is already in bed so I’ve not seen him at all today.
Zack almost ready to go to his bed too.
7.05pm - Give Zack a cuddle and pop him into bed.
7.07pm - Start chowing down my dinner to realise I’m not hugely hungry.
7.25pm - sit down at the mac trying to think of something to write. So tired I can barely look at the screen, but here I am, right?
7.42pm - pondering what to do for the rest of the evening. There is a bar of chocolate in the kitchen with my name on it, and an episode of Heroes to watch online, so I think that’ll be me sorted.
7.44pm - hit Publish.
