I’m guessing I won’t have been the only WP-self-hosted-bloggy person to see the ominous “A new version of Wordpress is available!” in their dashboard. Am I the only one who thinks it’s mocking them.. I mean using an exclamation mark like it’s a fun thing to do having to upgrade the whole damn thing. I! Think! NOT!
So, if the site goes down, or looks funky then you know why. I will try to fix it properly, but I think I may need to be a *little teeny weeny bit* more awake before I do that!

I know exactly what you are talking about! Of course, I’m the doofus that took them up on the offer of a ‘new version’…without knowing it would delete everything. I was NOT pleased. They really should put a yellow caution symbol there instead

All I ever do is take the new files and stick them in my FTP, telling the FTP program to overwrite all existing files with the same name. It’s quick and easy.
With this upload I also had to update the database and then resign into WordPress, but that wasn’t difficult at all. Took me 3 mintues to upgrade, and that was all uploading time

It is STUPID! They have a new database and uploading photos drove me fricking insane. Took me 15+ mins per photo on my connection.
