A big bed for Zack-
we just got it today. How
I’ll miss lie-ins!
Not going in yet,
need to get a bed-guard so
he doesn’t fall out!
Eek! I’ll be woken
early from now on I’m sure!
Maybe not… I hope!
Woken by kisses
and cuddles, asking to play.
Just five more minutes!
Maybe it won’t be
so bad? I can dream can’t
I?! What have I done!!!

You know by now that Amy is in a bed already. She was terrified of her cot, so it is 3 sided with a single bed next to it.
Having them jump out of bed at 3am is no fun, but not having to get out of bed to get kisses and cuddles? Rocks.

#1 fell out of bed when we moved him out of the crib. It was no big deal. It was actually sort of funny.

You could try a gate at the door of his room. Once my son knew he couldn’t get out he stopped trying.

My kids tended to sleep a bit better when they started in big beds. But they still end up in bed with me by early morning. I like to wake up to the snuggles.

good luck!! my son, when he was transferred to a big bed…at 18months…was no worse than when he was in a crib. but…he used to kamikaze dive out of his crib anyway so…the bed was a safer option!!
