When ideas come why is it always
the middle of the night?
Or while I’m feeding baby Max and
can’t possibly write??
Why do my best ideas pop out
when I am snuggly in my bed?
Why not while I’m sitting here
racking my brains instead??
No, my best ideas will come to me
when Zack has made a mess.
Something that I must clean up
before the carpet gets distressed!
By the time I’ve fed the baby,
cleaned the carpet and slept,
all those great ideas I had
have very simply… LEFT!
