Looking back over 2007 I can honestly say it’s been a pretty good year for us. That’s not to say we sailed through it, oh no, but there have been more ups than downs this year which is much improved over the hellish year that was 2006, and for this post I’m going to ignore the bad bits cause they’re in the past now and that’s where they’ll be staying!
My biggest achievement has most definitely been having Max. I’m so proud of his birth, I felt completely in control of it when I compare it to Zack’s birth. He’ll be 11 weeks and 5 days old as we go into 2008. I can’t believe that amount of time has passed already! His smiles and chatter just make my day. What can I say… I’m addicted!
My big boy Zack turned 2 - and with that has come the most amusing, and most annoying tantrums I’ve ever seen. I swear he talks back to me like he’s a teenager already, if I say it’s black… well of course he will say it’s white! His speech is amazing, I love that we can have proper conversations with each other. When I think of the difference this one year has made - he’s no longer a lil baby who needs my help, now he’s an independent big brother who likes to try to do everything “BY MYSELF!!”
J and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary and 3rd year together. A huge thing as in 2006 I had honestly wondered whether we’d make it to that. Every day I feel so lucky that he asked to marry me… ME! I have no idea why mind! lol. He’s a great dad and has really stepped up to the challenge of becoming a father of two - no trying to get out of the night feeds etc. If I need help, all I need to do is ask and he will do it without too many grumbles… most of the time ![]()
My parents have had a pretty medically ‘heavy’ year in 2007. Mum has had 3 operations - 2 of which were to do with her heart. Thankfully she has got through all of them really successfully. I knew she would, but there’s always that little tiny voice that comes through on the day of an op saying “what if”. I usually try to squash that voice.
Dad has had 2 ops, or ‘procedures’ involving what was apparently a 20mm kidney stone… yikes! I was sad that they had to miss Max’s first Christmas for this but SO glad that he finally got the op he needed. It’s not nice seeing my big strong daddy in so much pain. I’m so glad we can go into 2008 knowing that he is well on the mend ![]()
And of course… I stumbled across the blogging world! I’m so happy to have found such a fun obsession hobby, and some pretty amazing people to share it with
I love being able to share my world with others, and to have somewhere I can document my boys growing up. I want to remember everything, and this is the perfect medium for that!
There are things that went wrong too don’t get me wrong, but all in all I’m happy with how 2007 has gone for us, and I look forward to what 2008 will bring! Onwards and upwards!
So I will raise a glass on New Years Eve and be thankful that we have had a good year, and hope that 2008 is even better…
