Having written a post dedicated to looking back over 2007, I thought it would be a good round up of the year to make my last post a look forward at things to come in 2008. edit: it’s now officially 2008 in some places so technically this is also my first post for 2008! lol
2008 will bring our 3 year wedding aniversary in February. That will also be our 4th year together. Wow I can’t believe how quickly it seems to have gone by… four years together already! May there be many many more years to come.
We will all get a year older. My lil baby boy will be 3 years old in the summer. It seems like only yesterday we had just celebrated his first Christmas. With his birthday comes the chance for him to start at a preschool group - he will have around 2 mornings a week without me at a local nursery school… I really can’t believe he’s almost old enough to start this already! I’m looking forward to this as I think it’ll be great for him to spend more time with other children his own age, something that’s been distinctly lacking this year I’m afraid. It will also mean I’ll have some one-on-one time with Max, which I think will be much appreciated as he starts to get older and more aware of what’s going on around him!
Max will grow SO much in the coming year. He will learn to sit up, to laugh properly, to roll over and then back again. He will start crawling, then cruising, and walking by the end of the year, and he’ll finally start to understand what his mummy, daddy and big brother are saying to him. By the end of this year he’ll be a lil person rather than ‘just’ a baby - not that I ever think of him as ‘just’ anything. I am so looking forward to seeing him grow into himself, and to being able to share all these milestones with you
I will be a more seasoned blogger by the end of 2008, having signed up to Blog365. I wonder if I’ll actually be able to complete it? I hope so! I have so enjoyed the past 2 months since starting my blog and meeting such great people through it, I am most definitely looking forward to another year of blogging!
There are probably tons of other things I could mention if I really had the time to sit down and think about it all, but I have less than 12 hrs to do my end-of-the-year clean out to make sure our family and our house is ready for the start of 2008. Start as we mean to go on and all that!
So Happy New Year everyone!! I hope it brings great things to us all!

Ok technically these were taken on sat before Christmas while I was frantically last-minute-shopping, but the only other pics I have are already used in my Christmas post!
Me looking unimpressed waiting for the bus in the rain.

Red phone box just around the corner from me… I don’t think it actually works anymore though!

Max is getting big enough for his 3-6 month clothing now… *cries*

I made the stupid mistake of thinking I could upgrade the new wordpress thingy by myself and completely borked it up. So I’ve had to reinstall the whole thing - pics aren’t working and I’ve generally been in tears trying to fix it over the past hour or so.
feeling kinda low now - I’ve spent so much time trying to get everything *just right* and now it’s all screwed up. I should have known better eh?
edit: yea I had to re-do all my bloody pics! and after all that I have ended up with the old version again as I just haven’t a clue how to upgrade since I used Fantistico (or whatever it’s called) to initially install WP on the host. *sigh* I’m just going to wait til version 2.4 is out in feb and then look into doing it.
and yes Jenty - your posts are finally coming through! yay
hmmz… and I need to re-do my blogroll too by the looks of it…

Looking back over 2007 I can honestly say it’s been a pretty good year for us. That’s not to say we sailed through it, oh no, but there have been more ups than downs this year which is much improved over the hellish year that was 2006, and for this post I’m going to ignore the bad bits cause they’re in the past now and that’s where they’ll be staying!
My biggest achievement has most definitely been having Max. I’m so proud of his birth, I felt completely in control of it when I compare it to Zack’s birth. He’ll be 11 weeks and 5 days old as we go into 2008. I can’t believe that amount of time has passed already! His smiles and chatter just make my day. What can I say… I’m addicted!
My big boy Zack turned 2 - and with that has come the most amusing, and most annoying tantrums I’ve ever seen. I swear he talks back to me like he’s a teenager already, if I say it’s black… well of course he will say it’s white! His speech is amazing, I love that we can have proper conversations with each other. When I think of the difference this one year has made - he’s no longer a lil baby who needs my help, now he’s an independent big brother who likes to try to do everything “BY MYSELF!!”
J and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary and 3rd year together. A huge thing as in 2006 I had honestly wondered whether we’d make it to that. Every day I feel so lucky that he asked to marry me… ME! I have no idea why mind! lol. He’s a great dad and has really stepped up to the challenge of becoming a father of two - no trying to get out of the night feeds etc. If I need help, all I need to do is ask and he will do it without too many grumbles… most of the time
My parents have had a pretty medically ‘heavy’ year in 2007. Mum has had 3 operations - 2 of which were to do with her heart. Thankfully she has got through all of them really successfully. I knew she would, but there’s always that little tiny voice that comes through on the day of an op saying “what if”. I usually try to squash that voice.
Dad has had 2 ops, or ‘procedures’ involving what was apparently a 20mm kidney stone… yikes! I was sad that they had to miss Max’s first Christmas for this but SO glad that he finally got the op he needed. It’s not nice seeing my big strong daddy in so much pain. I’m so glad we can go into 2008 knowing that he is well on the mend
And of course… I stumbled across the blogging world! I’m so happy to have found such a fun obsession hobby, and some pretty amazing people to share it with
I love being able to share my world with others, and to have somewhere I can document my boys growing up. I want to remember everything, and this is the perfect medium for that!
There are things that went wrong too don’t get me wrong, but all in all I’m happy with how 2007 has gone for us, and I look forward to what 2008 will bring! Onwards and upwards!
So I will raise a glass on New Years Eve and be thankful that we have had a good year, and hope that 2008 is even better…
