I’m no longer Mummy… Zack has started to call me Mum instead. I know it’s silly but I could cry! I want my lil boy to call me his mummy for as long as possible but it looks like he’s too big to call me that anymore. I’m still getting called mummy occasionally, like if he conks himself on the head yet again, or stubs his toes etc, but other than that now I’m officially “Mum”.

I’ll need to get Max talking asap so I don’t start feeling old!

I remember the day my oldest child decided it was embaressing when I sang as we walked along the crowded sidewalk. That only made me sing a bit louder, as my own mother would have done.

It was a bittersweet moment because I understood my child’s feelings as I felt the same way at that age. But I also now understand my mother’s feelings - everyone should sing on the sidewalk! I felt like a chain in the generations, and I did manage to refrain my singing to a hum.

  4. Tanya - hello to you too :) thanks for adding me to your list, of course it’s ok!

Loved the comments about funny things Jordan has said… they’re oh so cute when they come out with things like those!

Veronica - of course Z’s first word was “Daddeeeee”… still his favourite because he doesn’t see him all day me thinks!
I’ve been getting Mummy today (over…and over… and over…again) so I think it’s going to be a gradual thing thank goodness!

SBW - he’s already telling me to stop singing and dancing whenever the notion takes me, i’m not going to stop though, well…not when i’m at home anyway!
I see myself turning into my mum at times - i remember her telling me not to talk with my mouth full etc and now i tell Z the same thing… its all swings and roundabouts isn’t it?

I feel your pain! My daughters both called me Momma or Mommy but the oldest (now six) recently decided to refer to me as “Mother”…. AAAGGHHH!

My youngest is three now and she is already getting too old for me…
