10 Things I Love About Being A Single Mum

by Marylin on October 23, 2009

  1. It’s all down to me. Knowing that my boys are progressing so well and that it’s all down to me is quite a thought!
  2. Kingsize bed ALL to myself!
  3. No one to moan at me for watching Big Brother, Xfactor or anything else for that matter.
  4. No one else’s mess to clean up after. I swear since TF left the place has been so much easier to keep clean and tidy, even with two littlies around.
  5. Being able to put myself first for a change.
  6. Listening to whatever music I want to, and not having to put up with any music I don’t like. (Who really likes listening to gaming music from Sonic the Hedgehog, other than children, I mean *really*?!)
  7. Having my place looking how I want it to, i.e. pink cushions and girlie pictures.
  8. Cooking things the way I like them – veggies galore!
  9. No one else finishing off my chocolate.
  10. The loo roll lasts at least twice as long as it used to… ;)

Hey, don’t dis. Green Hill Zone from Sonic is classic.

Ok, so it’s not the kind of thing I’d have on my iPod, but it’s a funky piece of music.

And yeah, enjoy the “no one else finishing off your chocolate” whilst the boys are still young. Cause, not that I’m speaking from experience – when they’re old enough to get into any and all cupboards, any confectionary is forefeit. :3

Aww, such cute naiveity!

It may have taken me a couple of years to find them all, but nowhere was safe from my grubby mitts when I was little! Eventually, they’ll learn all your places. But don’t worry, the counter to that is just to shove it in the fridge. It’s not fun when it’s just there for the taking. -grin-

What is the deal with men using so much more toilet paper for so much fewer, “jobs”?
I am glad you are making the most of your precious time! Everyone should!

“The loo roll lasts at least twice as long as it used to…”

Plus I bet the empty roll is replaced straight away, not left for the next person who needs some to do ;)

Shhh, don’t tell anyone but I’m with you on all of those points!

I love my husb dearly (just in case he somehow stumbles across this!) but sometimes I’d like a good nights sleep without being poked in the back and to eat all my own chocolate. Don’t even get me started on the loo-roll!
